JudyGail’s Place Cell Phone Drive

JudyGails Place is a non-profit organization that supports New Mexico families who have escaped from a violent partner.  JudyGails Place networks with community members to provide resources that ensure families have access to thriving futures that reach far beyond surviving.

In the United States, one in every four women and one in every seven men have experienced severe physical violence from an intimate partner, and each year more than 15 million children witness violence in their homes.  Dealing with the consequences of domestic violence in our society is an enormous challenge, wireless phones and technology serve as a vital link for all of us. They’re also an especially safe and reliable way for domestic violence victims and survivors to reach emergency or support services in times of crisis and stay connected with employers, family, and friends.

In an effort to help people in domestic violence situation gain access to this vital link,  Los Alamos Derby Dames will be partnering with JudyGails Place to collect unwanted cell phones.  Donation of your used cell phone at this event will get you one free admission!
